Humanitarian Youth Project
Michael

The Humanitarian Youth Project targets recently arrived young people of migrant, humanitarian and refugee backgrounds aged 12 to 24 years. The project provides culturally sensitive casework and referral services to encourage the clients’ orientation, settlement and integration into the mainstream Australian community. It enables clients to access relevant services and create links with other services in the area that can assist during their settlement period. Services include information in groups, school excursions, community gatherings, sports and recreational activities.

Areas of coverage include access to education, accommodation, employment and training, sports and recreation, health, camping, counselling and mental health to help them understand Australia better.

Young Women Project

Beatrice

The project provides settlement support and assistance to young women from refugee and humanitarian background ages 12-24 residing in Central Western Sydney.

This is done through the provision of casework, orientation and participation services to the target group. The project will also run culturally appropriate activities that seek to enhance the settlement and participation process of refugee young women. Objective of the project is to increase inclusion and empower young women to become active women of tomorrow and make positive contributions to the Australian society.
