ADSi Senior Services

Senior Services at Auburn Services Inc (ADSi) is funded by the Ageing Disability and Home Care (ADHC), Metro North Region to provide Social Support Services under the Home and Community Care Program. This Program includes running social support groups for CALD communities in the Auburn, Holoroyd and Parramatta area. The aim of this service is to decrease social isolation and enhance the level of social intercation and participation in the community by older people, people with disability and their carers from CALD backgrounds.

  • Coles On Line Shopping (Auburn LGA only)

  • Heart Moves Exercise Programme

What we do?

  • Increase social interaction and to promote lifelong learning

  • Increase seniors’ knowledge on the services that are available to them

  • Promote healthy, active aging through physical activities and health information sessions

  • Increase functional independence of seniors

  • Co-ordinate referrals to key services in order to meet the needs of seniors such as Personal care, Domestic Assistance and Transport

How we do it?

  • Facilitate support groups for seniors

  • Co-ordinate other main stream services to promote services relevant for seniors

  • Organise group excursions

  • Provide free education and leisure activites such as:

    • English Conversation Classes

    • Computer Classes

    • Arts and Crafts

    • Exercise Classes

  • Friendly visiting and phone calls plus assistance with appointments and shopping

Eligibility Criteria

  • Culturally and Linguistically Diverse (CALD) frail aged ( over 65 years) and their carers

Areas We Cover

Auburn, Holroyd and Parramatta LGAs

Fee

  • There is generally no cost for the service except for some  group outings a minimum charge may apply

How can you access the service?

  • Clients can refer themselves

  • Families of clients can make a referral

  • Other services can make a referral

  • Assessment: Please note that an initial assessment will be undertaken by the Project Officer to assess eligibility and determine the relevant services required
